Chaos

Defect

B β€” Situational
SkillUncommon1 ⚑

Channel 1 random Orb.

Why B-tier:

Cheap orb generation that fuels Evoke and Focus payoffs; randomness is fine when any orb helps.

Best with:

Defragment, Multi-Cast, Loop

Defect orb filler

Chaos is flexible orb volume, not precise scaling

Chaos is best when any orb type advances the plan. It gets weaker when the deck needs a specific Frost, Lightning, Dark, or Plasma outcome on the current turn.

Pick it when

  • Focus, evoke effects, or orb slots already make random channels valuable.
  • The deck needs cheap orb density more than another expensive payoff.
  • Several possible orb outcomes would be acceptable against the next elite or boss.

Pass or delay when

  • The fight requires an exact orb type on a narrow turn and random output can miss the breakpoint.
  • The deck already fills orb slots faster than it can evoke or benefit from them.
  • A damage, Block, draw, or energy card would solve the next fight more directly.

Matchup notes

  • Against Aeonglass, cheap passive output can help if it avoids extra low-value card plays later.
  • Against Corrupt Heart, Chaos needs Focus or evoke support so the random channel offsets the card-play tax.
  • In short hallway fights, it is usually a role-player: good when the deck wants any orb, mediocre when it needs a specific answer.

Common misreads

  • Treating a random orb as a guaranteed Frost or Lightning turn.
  • Taking more orb filler after the deck already lacks payoff.
  • Playing it before checking whether the current orb slots are worth overwriting or pushing forward.
